even if the Florents tried to claim it, they would never be able to compete with the HightowersДorne- House Yronwood or Dayne. they have 4 times the forces of any other house sworn to Highgarden, as well as many alliances, and gold. and i think there are some really small houses with sigils reminiscent of Bastard Baratheon arms. Stormlands- The Stormlands are pretty underdeveloped on the strength of their houses, it seems the Conningtons were once the 2nd most powerful force (maybe) but are pretty irrelevant now. Westerlands- Lannisters of Lannisport, and if they're alive, the Reynes

they're the most powerful house it seems, and during the andal invasion claimed to be kings of the vale. the Freys and whoever rules harrenhal (depending on the timeperiod) maybe even blackwoods, brakens, mallisters, pipers and mallisters. so those with the most power, or prestige could take it. The North- probably between the Boltons and Karstarks riverlands- this would probably lead to outright chaos. They'd probably just hold another kingsmoot.

Both ruled as the strongest kings of their respective regions until their current overlords came along and subjugated them, so unless there's some people with strong blood claims around, the Yronwoods probably go for it.ДЄs for the Iron Islands, just about anyone. House Yronwood would be in a similar situation as Royce. probably House Crakehall? No idea how they measure up against the others, but as Jaime squired for them, they're probably one of the stronger houses. Probably whatever house Lyonel Baratheon's unnamed daughter married into, if it was a local house.ДЇor the Reach, House Florent's always whining about their stronger claim to Highgarden, and they've married into the Hightowers and Tarlys, so they might be able to get some power behind them. Houses Vance and Mallister have both reigned briefly as kings, perhaps one of em. Frey is powerful but looked down upon by each other, the Blackwoods and Brackens would fiercely oppose each other, House Whent is virtually extinct. In their absence, House Royce might be able to make it in, appeal to everyone's memories of Robar Royce and the Bronze Kings. House Manderly is also pretty powerful, but their worship of the Seven might make people a bit hesitant to place them above them all.ДЇor the Vale, House Arryn has multiple cadet branches around. Bolton is pretty powerful, but always not very well liked. Failing that, there's always the Karstarks. There's said to possibly be cadet branches of the Starks around Barrowtown or White Harbor, so they'd probably have pretty good claims.
